To order the certificates reference numbers are required from the GRO Index (previously known as St.Catherine’s Index). You need to access these index to determine the district, volume and page reference. The index are either on microfilm or microfiche and are available at major libraries, LDS family history centres and family history societies. Click here for GRO Index Locations

Mail from England
to our office is sent registered mail. We photocopy all certificates before
they are mailed.

If the reference you apply for is incorrect the Records Office in England will not issue a certificate and a refund of about $12 Australian will be given. If you have any doubts we strongly recommend that you ask to have the index reference checked.
Our charge is $3 to have our researcher in England check the original index before they apply for the certificate.
When you send your request, provide all the readable details along with a note about the detail that was unclear.
